**History**
The Glasflügel 604 was completely repainted at LTB Lindner in the late 1990s. Since the repainting work was completed, the aircraft has made only 5 take-offs and was subsequently stored in a dry, protected environment. The aircraft last flew regularly in 1994 and was subsequently fitted by Klaus Keim with a one-piece canopy and numerous technical improvements. Comprehensive technical maintenance and repairs were carried out between November 2020 and March 2021.
As part of this comprehensive maintenance and overhaul, the surface, landing gear, brakes, control systems and all mechanical components were inspected, overhauled and readjusted. In the process, some bearings, bolts and wear parts were replaced, and the flight controls were fully checked. The TM 604-11 (EASA AD 2011-213), involving the replacement of the elevator push rod, and the TM 5-2018, relating to the centre of gravity coupling, were carried out. In addition, the aircraft was fitted with a new instrument panel featuring overhauled and re-wired instrumentation. All electrical, pneumatic and mechanical systems were subsequently tested for functionality and documented.
The Glasflügel 604 is now in very good technical condition and has been well maintained. The extensive maintenance and repair work is fully documented; the ARC was last renewed in May 2026.
Thanks to the high-quality repaint and the comprehensive technical overhaul, this is not a ‘barn find restoration’ but a flight-ready and exceptionally rare Glasflügel 604 that is now for sale.
A special glider for connoisseurs, enthusiasts and pilots with an appreciation for classic high-performance gliders. Preferably to be passed on to good hands – ideally those who will give it more flying hours than further years of restoration.
